Directions: This meeting is scheduled for checking the overall progress of the group. Is each member of the group getting the forms all filled out and working on the final presentation? When this is all filled out, the team leader or the captain should pass it in to the teacher.
Team Captain Name___________________________________
How will your group meet the criteria of the final presentation?
Your group will be writing a script and performing an old
time radio show based on the graphic novel The Undersea Adventures
of Capt'n Eli.
Listen to short episodes of old
time radio adventure shows provided on this website.
These short episodes will give you an idea of what an old
time radio show was like.
There are 3 Acts in Book 1 of The Undersea
Adventures of Capt'n Eli and 8 Acts in Book 2. Each work group will choose
2 Acts to perform. Each performance will integrate characters
(major and minor), theme, newly acquired vocabulary, and
a "Historical Backgound Spot" or a commentary reflecting
on a historical event that influences a character or the
action.
As a group, you will be discussing the various roles for
each member including technical expert, sound effects person,
actor/actress etc. Taking into account each of your strengths
and weaknesses, you will decide what job best fits your personalities.
Each performance cannot be more than 10 min. total. (includes
each of your 3 Acts)
What theme or themes will become clear in your final radio episode?
Theme 1: _________________________________________________
Theme 2: _________________________________________________
Theme 3: _________________________________________________
Is the script written for the 3 separate Acts and have
the actors practiced the lines?
Are the technical experts ready to record the radio show?
When will your group find time to practice and complete this task?
